a year agoI was referred to Dr. Miller by my sleep specialist. I called the office and spoke to a receptionist name Angela. We were not sure whether my insurance would cover the services I needed. I have been seeking a specialist in order to get an oral appliance for sleep apnea. She assured me that she would send my information to my insurance to see if the insurance company would cover the services I needed. Months later, my insurance company did not approve Dr. Miller as an in network doctor. If I would seek his services, I would have to pay out of network payment which I cannot afford at all. My health insurance referred me to another doctor that they considered in network. At this time I cannot seek any services at all from my in network doctor. Without my own knowledge or consent the office of Dr. Miller proceeded to get me approved with a company that makes the oral appliance. I have never been to their office once for them to even assess me for the sleep appliance. When I told Angela that I won't be able to seek their services, she told me to call the company that makes the oral appliance and cancel the request. I have been calling the phone number continuously and have been on hold for many hours. No one has helped me, I've never been able to talk to a human being. I addressed my frustration with Angela in Dr. Miller's office. She assured me that she would contact the company herself and cancel my order. As it turns out Angela cannot get in touch with them either. She contacted my doctor that is in my network. Right now for the past 2 months I am stuck with getting any services from my in network doctor. Dr. Jan Miller's office referred me to this company for an oral appliance and without my knowledge, my permission, or my consent, without even meeting with me one time and assessing me for this device. I am stuck getting any services from my in network doctor. I have been given the phone number of this company that NEVER actually connects you to a human being and made responsible for doing the leg work of getting myself out of their services. So overall I am very frustrated and disappointed. Once they acknowledged that I would not be going to Dr. Jan Miller because my insurance will not get me in network services, I've been given the responsibility of getting myself out of a hole that I didn't even know they put me in.
