a year agoI was nervous about going to a new dentist. I had a bad toothache and my dentist could not fit me in for over two weeks. They did call back and said I could get in within two days due to a cancellation but by then I had already made an appointment with Dr. McKown. He was more than I could have ever dreamt of. He wasn’t in a hurry. He spent time talking and getting to know me. I was thoroughly impressed. I felt as if I had known him for a long time. Then he said, “Let’s take a look at that tooth.”. He’s very conservative and is for saving your teeth if at all possible. He did two x-rays and immediately told me my problem was not my tooth but my sinuses. He prescribed an antibiotic and will see me again in two weeks. I thanked God for sending me to such a wonderful, intelligent, very wise and efficient caring Dentist. I’ve been to a lot of Dentists in my 69 years of life. I’ve only come across two that I truly have faith and trust in. Dr. McKown is one of those two. I look forward to going to him again. Oh, I was running late too and was expecting to be turned away. I had misjudged the time it would take me to drive the distance. The receptionist walked out and said it was okay that he would see me anyway, I was apologizing all over the place. I hate to be late and always plan to arrive early. I had a very positive experience. I think I have found a new Dentist :-).

5 years agoMy family have gone to Dr. McKown for years. We have had a few major things done, and his care has been more than adequate for our needs. Our personal dental hygiene is excellent. He does emergency dental work, which makes going to him VERY convenient, as well. He does have high expectations for self-care. He is a minimalist, when it comes to his work, and he will do no more than is REALLY needed. Therefore, you are not overcharged for unnecessary procedures. From my perspective, this is an excellent trait in a dentist.

2 years agoHave a severe broken tooth, and he came highly recommended. I hadn’t slept in 3 days, nor eaten due to the pain. I’m law enforcement and he spoke to me like a drug seeker. Very rude and condescending. Gave me ibuprofen...which I’d been taking. I’ve never been spoken to or treated in such a disrespectful manner by a health care professional, who could see I was in obvious pain, and the reason why. Avoid this rude man at all costs unless you want to be accused of being a drug addict.
