11 months agoDr. Sheila Hernandez is amazing at what she does. She will educate you (the parent) and your child on the importance in keeping a great smile and preserving your teeth. I highly recommend her. I will continue to bring my boys to Dr. Sheila Hernandez until they no longer can’t due to age. Her staff is amazing and very helpful.

5 months agoI like this dental office because they are pretty friendly to my family, but I don’t think they are as thorough as they should be. I took my child for a cleaning and the tech literally only cleaned two bottom teeth, added fluoride and then we were out. My child was rather nervous, but I still think the tech should have been more thorough at least during the cleaning process.

3 months agoHorrible front desk. My daughter had an appointment scheduled for the past 6 months, my husband confirmed the appointment via text and filled out the paperwork that was sent to us, then we show up for the appointment only to be told everyone already went home because we hadn’t updated our insurance yet. For reference, our appointment was at 1pm. Was told that they called us, which they did but they left no voicemail and I had a voicemail from them from the day prior confirming our appointment and would see us today. Seems to me that instead of patient care, everyone would rather go home to celebrate Halloween. The woman at the front desk could care less about any inconvenience, it is too bad because we liked Dr. Hernandez but there’s plenty of good pediatric dentists in San Antonio with a much better staff.

2 months agoDr was okay I think, cared more about lecturing us about marriage with my husband and I. Was weird. Office staff isn’t very friendly and can come off as rude. The last visit I had she did a treatment with her that was authorized by insurance, while preforming that procedure she took it upon herself to do another. When she was done and I went to check out I was being charged for the procedure 100per because it did not have the pre authorization. I got upset and thought it was very unprofessional. I told them to fix it or I’d switch dentist. Dentist waived fee. Today I called to make an appointment on her patient the she “cares” so much for and I was told to find another dentist. Guess that $100 really hurt her. Save yourself the trouble and pick another dentist to begin with.
